Hi, my name is Tricia Parish, and I own and run Deep in Nature!

I’m an experienced educator and conservationist with an MSc in Primate Conservation from Oxford Brookes University, where I specialised in conservation education. I’ve travelled extensively in Asia running wildlife conservation workshops, and gained practical experience of animal handling and welfare, working as a zookeeper in animal collections around the world.

After my son was born, I retrained as a Montessori teacher and Level 3 Forest School Leader and have spent several years working with local children in Harpenden.  I am a qualified Forest Bathing Guide (certified by Nadur and MIND Hillingdon).  I am also an outdoor mental health practitioner (certified by Therapy Adventure), hold a certificate in adult mental health for outdoor leaders (from Therapeutic Forest) and am a woodcraft for wellbeing practitioner (licenced by Therapeutic Forest).  I have an enhanced DBS check, have completed Designated Safeguarding Lead training and am trained in Forest School Outdoor Paediatric First Aid.

I set up Deep in Nature to help adults and children to connect with the natural world and enjoy the health and developmental benefits that come from this.  I want to share my knowledge and passion for nature, help connect children and adults to the natural world and develop the skills to derive health benefits from time in the natural world.  I run forest school parties, family forest school sessions and workshops for foster children.  I have developed a guided forest bathing experience to offer to adults and families who are looking to reconnect with nature and experience the benefits of nature based mindfulness.
